HOT CHOCOLATE AND WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE

WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups milk
2 1/2 cups half-and-half
225g  white chocolate (use a good melting white chocolate as white chocolate chips will not melt properly)
1 Tablespoon sugar (adjust to your liking)
1 Teaspoon pure vanilla extract


Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat bring the milk, sugar and white chocolate to a slow boil, whisking until the chocolate is melted and smooth.   

Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.

Note: Mix in any add-ins as desired (1 Tablespoon of  rum or  liqueur, such as Cointreau or Gran Marnier, in each cup is lovely) some whipped cream, chocolate shavings and serve immediately



HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups  milk
2 1/2 cups half-and-half
2 Tablespoons of  really good cocoa powder (unsweetened)
2-3 Tablespoon sugar (adjust to your liking)
1 Teaspoon of pure vanilla extract


Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat bring  the milk, cream, sugar and cocoa to a slow boil, whisking until the sugar is melted and the cocoa is blended smoothly.

Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla.

*Note: If you like, garnish each drink with a handful of mini marshmallows in each cup, a large dollop of whipped cream and chocolate shavings!
